A floating dock on the Tiber river, the Tiber Showers bring together themes of community hygiene and water based recreation into a shared space. The idea stemmed from two observations, the first being a lack of connection to the Tiber, and the second, a presence of people on the site using a garden hose to shower. The central showers provide a space for people to rinse off in the heat or to take a shower if they don't have access to one elsewhere. Biodegradable soap is provided, and shower runoff is filtered through a small floating wetland on the corner of the dock. On the edge of the dock there are wash basins and drying racks for people to clean their clothes.
